MMA SQUARED: 2019 Stories of the Year Preview
Bloody Elbow 2.0 | Anton Tabuena

Hey everyone, I’m going to be taking a break from the internet for the next two weeks. In my absence I have prepared for you a year-end recap like no other. There will be no “fight of the year,” no “comeback of the year,” this is the MMA Squared recap, a dumpster fire so big and bright that the Devil himself might have to make an appearance. I’ve picked out the 14 most influential fighters, sorted through their stories, and will lay them out for your enjoyment.

Please drop suggestions in the comments of some of your favorite moments from the year, and thank you all so much for your time.

Rivalry of the year? Masvidal vs Askren or Jones vs Adesanya?

Storyline of the year.

Villain of the year, TJ, Colby Covington, or Greg Hardy?

There are no awards, but if you laugh you win.

Take care of yourself and I’ll talk to you in 2020. Thank you to everyone who checks out these cartoons, Kid Nate for taking a chance on my pitch for a daily cartoon about MMA, and especially the folks who comment. Some of your observations are quite astute, some are hilarious, and I’m just blown away that an internet comment section can be such a decent place.

Thank you.
