The UFC is heading back to the United Kingdom in early 2020. On March 21st the promotion will rumble into London-town with a show currently in search of a headliner.
The event, which will take place at the O2 Arena, added a welterweight bout recently. Danny ‘Hot Chocolate’ Roberts — a Londoner, himself — took to twitter to break the news; announcing he would be facing Nicolas Dalby on home soil.
Roberts vs. Dalby adds to a Euro-friendly line-up that already includes John Phillips vs. Dusko Todorovic (middleweight), Darren Stewart vs. Marin Vettori (middleweight) and Molly McCann vs. Ashlee Evans-Smith (flyweight).
For Roberts, who grew up in Croyden, South London, this is his second UFC bout in his hometown. He beat Oliver Enkamp by KO at UFC Fight Night: Werdum vs. Volkov back in 2018. Robert’s most recent bout was another KO win, this time over Zelim Imadaev at UFC Fight Night: Zabit vs. Kattar in Moscow. That victory moved his record to 17-5.
Dalby holds a pro record of 18-3-1 (1). He beat Alex Oliveira last time out — at UFC Fight Night: Hermansson vs. Cannonier in September. That was the Dane’s first fight with the UFC since re-joining the promotion. Dalby was cut back in 2016, off of three straight losses, but was picked up by ZUFFA after going 3-0 (1 NC) with Cage Warriors.
