Ken Shamrock found himself in a desperate situation at a young age.
Shamrock recently took part in a deep-dive podcast documentary series titled A Fighter’s Legacy. Shamrock told the program about how he committed multiple robberies and ended up in the hospital at age 10.
“I was on the run for, I don’t know, three or four months—living out of a car. I robbed five or six different stores,” Shamrock revealed. “Strong-armed robbery, which I was wanted for. So, when I finally got caught, I got stabbed behind a 7-11—which was behind the Pueblo Vista school. And then I woke up in a hospital, handcuffed to a bed.”
Strong-armed robbery is a specific type of larceny that is committed with a threat of force or intimidation that usually does not involve a weapon. For example, someone may pretend to have a gun or threaten violence in an effort to commit a robbery.
This three or four month stint occurred four years before he met Frank Shamrock and would later be adopted by Bob Shamrock.
