Fury vs. Schwarz salaries: Tyson Fury reportedly guaranteed $12.5 million

We’re just hours away from Tyson Fury taking on Tom Schwarz in a Top Rank on ESPN+ main event. It’s the first fight of Fury’s lucrative promotional contract with Top Rank, and if all goes according to plan, he will rematch Deontay Wilder in early 2020.

The fighter salaries are out for Saturday’s card in Las Vegas, Nevada. Officially, Fury’s purse is $1 million, but it’s going to be much more than that. ESPN’s Dan Rafael reports that Fury will get $12.5 million. Tom Schwarz’s purse is $250,000 but evidently his guarantee is in the “low seven figures,” which means he benefits from being a B-side to a big star in the form of at least $1 million.

Basically the rest of the card outside of the main and co-main event is filler. Sullivan Barrera and Jesse Hart both cleared the low six-figures for what should be a compelling light-heavyweight bout, but no one else exceeds even $20,000. Mikaela Mayer is the next notable fighter on the card and she tops the preliminary card broadcast on ESPN2. It’s just a stream of fringe contenders, prospects, and low-level competition.

Here are the full purses as listed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission:

Tyson Fury $1 million (guarantee is $12.5 million)
vs. Tom Schwarz $250K (guarantee is low seven figures)

Sullivan Barrera $125K
