The UFC is back in Chicago on Saturday, June 8th for a pay-per-view event that features a pair of championship fights. Men’s flyweight king Henry Cejudo is going up in weight to challenge for the vacant bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes, while women’s flyweight champion defends her belt against Jessica Eye.
Evidently, the two title fights don’t seem to be floating the boats of the viewing public, so they needed to spruce things up. No problem, as Donald Cerrone vs. Tony Ferguson is already being billed as the “people’s main event.” Let’s be real… it totally is. This is a three-round lightweight bout that would ordinarily be a five-rounder. Rounding out the main card are bantamweight contenders Petr Yan and Jimmie Rivera, while heavyweights Tai Tuivasa and Blagoi Ivanov open up the PPV.
Those prelims, though? Hot fire. Strawweight contenders Tatiana Suarez and Nina Ansaroff are probably fighting for a title shot, while Aljamain Sterling and Pedro Munhoz are battling for title contention at men’s bantamweight. Even deep down on the Fight Pass prelims you have Joanne Calderwood looking to extend her winning streak at flyweight vs. Katlyn Chookagian.
