The UFC Stockholm main card is in-progress, and previously unranked light heavyweight Aleksandar Rakic just slept the #11 ranked Jimi Manuwa with a head kick in a sporty 42-seconds. Rakic is now 4-0 in the UFC with an overall record of 12-1. With back to back highlight finishes, expect him to be ranked come next week. As for Manuwa, the veteran has now lost four-fights in a row, three by way of brutal knockout. Before that, “Mr. Finland” Makwan Amirkhani returned to action after a year away to score a second round submission of Chris Fishgold. The 15-3 Amirkhani has now won two-straight as well as improves to 5-1 within the UFC.
Also on the main card, Christos Giagos showed a well-rounded game across the first two rounds to pick up a decision win over Damir Hadzovic, despite dropping the third. Giagos has now won two in a row in the UFC and moves to an overall record of 17-7. Opening up the main card, Sweden’s own Daniel Teymur handily won a unanimous decision over UFC newcomer Sung Bin Jo. Teymur has officially won a UFC fight, snapping a three-fight losing skid.

Main card:
Aleksandar Rakic def. Jimi Manuwa by KO at :42 of round 1: Light Heavyweight
Well, this one didn’t take very long. At around his third combo into the fight, Rakic hit Manuwa with one of the cleanest head kicks that you will ever see. Manuwa went completely unconscious before he even hit the floor. Yikes!
UNBELIEVABLE!
OH MY, @RAKIC_UFC!

Makwan Amirkhani def. Chris Fishgold by submission (Anaconda) at 4:25 of round 2: Featherweight
Fishgold came out throwing volume as Amirkhani sat back and waited. Once he saw his entry, Amirkhani took the fight to the mat and kept it there. Fishgold was unable to return to his feet, and Amirkhani rolled for a guillotine at the end of the round. The second round saw Amirkhani waiting again as Fishgold pressed forward. Fishgold opted to jump a guillotine off of a takedown attempt from Amirkhani, but it proved to be the wrong move. Amirkhani quickly locked up an anaconda choke and it was a wrap.
He’s back!

Christos Giagos def. Damir Hadzovic by unanimous decision (29-27 x2, 29-28): Lightweight
Giagos got going early, landing the volume as Hadzovic’s output was significantly less. Giagos was also the one mixing in his takedowns, even if Hadzovic was getting back to his feet. It was the same song and dance for the following frame. Giagos was the one landing on the feet as well as mixing in the takedowns, but he started to fade towards the end of the round. Giagos was visibly gassed in the last act, allowing Hadzovic to walk him down with strikes. A botched takedown gave Hadzovic the top position, but he was unable to realize a finish before time ran out.

Daniel Teymur def. Sung Bin Jo by unanimous decision (30-27 x2, 29-28): Featherweight
Teymur started hot, putting all sorts of hands on Jo. He mixed in his takedowns and was pretty much full throttle for the entire opening round. Jo had some moments off of his back where he attempted some subs, but they were short-lived and not very close. The second round saw the same aggression from Teymur, just with less output. He chipped away at the legs of Jo, and seemed to get frustrated at the lack of a brawl that was happening. The final round saw more of the same. Teymur pressed forward behind leg kicks, mixing in takedown attempts, with Jo throwing low volume and defending a lot.
