The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns with some highly anticipated and fun bouts this weekend. One intriguing aspect of these contests is that the main event for a UFC PPV is a women’s MMA title fight.

Brawling for the World Strawweight Title, on a three-fight winning streak, ‘Thug’ Rose Namajunas, the “Current Best Female Strawweight” defending her title, whose last loss was to Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 201 on the 30th of August, way back in 2016, she now has a 8-3-0 record. ‘Thug’ Rose hasn’t fought since April of 2018 when she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the second consecutive time and defended the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship, but she will make her second attempt at defending that title in the main event against Jéssica “Bate Estaca” (aka: ‘Pile Driver’) Andrade also on a three fight-winning streak and listed “Second Current Best Female Strawweight” right after Rose, last decimating Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 228 via Punch at 1:58 in round 1, and she comes at this fight with a longer professional record of 19-6-0; TONIGHT (May 11, 2019), at the highly anticipated UFC 237 PPV event on ESPN+ from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. These two women couldn’t be better matched, this is a fight that could go either way, who will prove to be triumphant and hold their arm up? We shall find out together!

The co-main consists of a Middleweight fight, featuring MMA artists Jared “Killa Gorilla” Cannonier, with a 11-4-0 record, who last fought and won against David Branch at UFC 230 back on the third of Nov., 2018, facing up against MMA legend, OG Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva, aka: the “#1 Greatest MMA Striker of All Time”, who heads into this battle with a 34-9-0, 1 NC record. Will Silva strike his way to victory despite being 44 years old in a young man’s sport? We shall find that out together, as well!

Don’t forget prior to this bout we have perhaps the most anticipated fight on the card – a featherweight tilt between former champion, José Aldo, and surging contender Alexander Volkanovski! Not to mention an OG fight between Clay Guida and the controversial B.J. Penn. This card should be loaded with great face-punching action!

Flyin’ Brian J will be providing real-time updates of the entire UFC 237 fight-night PPV main card this evening during a LIVE YouTube telecast that will stream in the video player above. This isn’t the best event that the world’s premiere mixed martial arts promotion has ever placed behind a $65 paywall. The goal is to provide a FREE and legal alternative to draining your bank account. He might be uglier than Anderson Silva’s leg turning to mush, but throughout the entirety of the main card he will be doing his best to keep fight fans informed on the weird, miraculous, and jaw dropping action, with his special guest Eddie Mercado of The 6th Round Post-Fight Show Podcast, starting at 10PM/7PM ETPT.
