UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson is currently on a forced hiatus due to some personal issues. After his wife filed a restraining order in March due to bizarre incidents, “El Cucuy” decided to seek professional help, which according to him, has been going smoothly.

On Monday, the former interim 155-pound champion gave another update via Twitter, stating he had passed the required medical evaluations. He also demanded for the UFC to strip Khabib Nurmagomedov of the title due to inactivity.

Khabib is aware of the magnitude of the said matchup, which is why he has nothing but well-wishes for Ferguson.

“Yes, it’s a great fight. It’s one of the best… Not even one of the best, it’s the most anticipated fight in the UFC,” Khabib recently told RT Sport. “I’ve been told about it by the UFC owners, because they monitor what people say on the internet.

“This is the most anticipated fight at the moment. So let’s hope he comes back.”

“The Eagle” is currently serving a nine-month suspension for the UFC 229 brawl last October. The sanction is set to lapse in July, but he is not expected to be back in September.

Khabib recently revealed that talks about a fight in Abu Dhabi around the said date have begun.
