Join us today (Saturday, March 16th) on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring and play-by-play (for the main card) as UFC on ESPN+ 5: Till vs. Masvidal takes place in the 02 Arena in London, England.

The headliner comes in the welterweight division, where the #3 ranked Darren Till will meet the returning veteran Jorge Masvidal. In the co-main, Gunnar Nelson takes on Leon Edwards in another important encounter at 170 lbs.

Today’s event is in Europe, so it’s on early in North America. The entire event will air on ESPN+, with the seven-fight prelims kicking off at 1pm ET/10am PT. The six-fight main card, for which play-by-play will be provided, kicks off at 4pm ET/1pm PT.

Main card (4 PM ET, ESPN+):

  • Darren Till vs. Jorge Masvidal

Round 1-

Masvidal flies across the Octagon and kicks Till in the cup. The fight re-starts and Till knocks down Masvidal immediately with a southpaw cross! Masvidal scrambles back to his feet and lands a right hand. Inside leg kick lands for Masvidal. Till catches a body kick and takes top position. Masvidal returns to his feet and goes back to the body kick. A jab-cross lands clean for Till as he backs Masvidal up to the cage. Jab lands for Masvidal but a two-piece scores for Till. Masvidal misses with the right but connects with the left. And again for Masvidal. Till clinches up against the cage. A flurry scores for Till.

Round 2-

Till presses forward and eats a body kick. An accidental eye poke brought a pause to the action. The fight resumes and Masvidal blasts a takedown. Till stands up but his back is to the cage. Till frees himself and lands a lead hook. Slapping leg kick lands for Till. Till scores with a stiff jab. And another. Masvidal connects with another body kick and then misses an overhand right. Till leaps in with an elbow to which Masvidal smiles. Then out of almost nowhere, Masvidal throws a right hand and then leaps into a left hook that rocks Till. As Till is falling, Masvidal connects with a two-piece to put Till out cold! One follow up strike lands before the bout is stopped. OMG!!!!!!!

  • Leon Edwards vs. Gunnar Nelson

Round 1-

Both men feint and feint. An up-kick misses for Edwards. Nelson clinches up against the cage in pursuit of the takedown. Edwards falls to his back and Nelson looks to solidify the position. Edwards wall walks to his feet but his back is still on the fence. Edwards flips the script and takes Nelson to the ground. With one hook in, Edwards tries to fully take the back. A couple of short punches land for Edwards and Nelson stands back to his feet. A set of knees land to the thigh followed by another takedown. Nelson explodes to his feet. A cross hits for Edwards.

10-9 Edwards

Round 2-

Leg kick misses for Edwards and then a head kick is blocked. A one-two whiffs for Edwards. Nelson fails to connect with a body kick. They clinch up and jockey for position. Edwards scores with an elbow on the break. They clinch up again and Nelson puts Edwards on the cage. Nelson scores a cross on the break. Nelson throws a punch to enter the clinch again. Edwards hits the midsection with a knee and returns to open space. A sneaky elbow on the inside cracks Nelson. Edwards drops Nelson with a thudding elbow from the single collar tie! A barrage of ground strikes connect. This might be over. Nelson makes it out of the round but not without a massive hematoma around his eye.

10-9 Edwards

Round 3-

Nelson seems to be recovered going into the final round. Nelson closes the distance and hunts for a takedown against the fence. Edwards escapes into the center of the Octagon. Again Nelson clinches to get a takedown but gets shutdown. Jab lands for Nelson as he enters the clinch. Edwards gets double underhooks and puts Nelson against the fence before scoring a brief takedown. Elbow to the face lands for Edwards before he breaks free. A heavy right hand connects for Nelson followed by a takedown. Nelson moves to full mount with about a minute left. A set of right hands land to the face of Edwards. Nelson tries to posture up but Edwards holds on until the bell sounds.

  • Volkan Oezdemir vs. Dominick Reyes

Round 1-

Inside leg kick scores for Reyes. Head kick hits for Reyes. An Oezdemir lead hook whiffs. Reyes teeps to the body then a leg kick briefly knocks down Oezdemir. Reyes blocks a body kicks. A spinning backfist misses by a mile for Oezdemir. Accidental low blow to Oezdemir pauses the fight. Action resumes. Right hand lands for Oezdemir then a head kick is blocked. Leg kick from Oezdemir knocks down Reyes. Reyes stands up. Oezdemir holds Reyes against the cage. Reyes frees himself into open space. Inside leg kick lands for Reyes but Oezdemir scores a takedown. Reyes stands up and lands a knee to the body. Right hand partially lands for Oezdemir.

10-9 Reyes?

Round 2-

Inside leg kick scores for Reyes. Oezdemir blocks a head kick and taunts Reyes. Another low kick lands for Reyes. Oezdemir presses forward. Leap in right hand is blocked by Oezdemir. Reyes returns to the leg kick. Reyes jabs the body. Reyes attempts a takedown but Oezdemir isn’t having it. Oezdemir tries a takedown of his own to no avail. Reyes blasts a body kick but Oezdemir eats it without issue. Southpaw cross lands for Reyes and then a right hand for Oezdemir connects. Reyes botches a trip takedown but lands a cross. Inside leg kick scores for Oezdemir. Some redness is showing around the knee of Oezdemir. Another leg kick scores for Oezdemir. In the final ten seconds, Oezdemir goes for a takedown but fails. A set of punches land in the clinch for Oezdemir as the horn sounded.

10-9 Reyes?

Round 3-

Inside leg kick from Reyes prompts Oezdemir to shoot in. Reyes remains vertical. A right-left combo lands for Oezdemir. A two-piece is followed by a head kick from Reyes but it’s blocked. A right misses for Oezdemir but the left lands. A short left hand connects to the chin of Oezdemir. Reyes fends off another takedown attempt from Oezdemir, but is stuck against the fence. Oezdemir chips away with short knees to the thigh. A left hand lands for Oezdemir on the break. Reyes wings a body shot. Reyes starts to up his output, letting his hands go much more than the first two rounds. A right-left lands for Reyes and Oezdemir botches another takedown. Oezdemir misses with the right but lands a left. Switch step cross hits clean for Oezdemir. A three punch flurry partially lands for Oezdemir as time expires.

  • Nathaniel Wood vs. Jose Alberto Quinones

Round 1-

Quinones slips to open the fight but stands right back up. Wood fires a right hand. Wood closes the distance and Quinones shoots a single leg. Quinones achieves a bodylock takedown into side control. Wood reverses into top position. Quinones stands up. Laser quick cross lands for Wood. Head kick from Quinones is blocked. Uppercut to left hook is blocked by Wood. Leaping left hook connects for Wood. Stiff jab knocks down Quinones. Wood works for a D’arce. Quinones defends and escapes to his feet. Lead leg kick scores for Quinones. Wood misses with a cross-hook combo. A series of lead leg kicks hit their mark for Quinones. Body punch to left hook lands for Wood followed by a takedown at the bell.

10-9 Wood

Round 2-

Wood punches his way on the inside and Quinones clinches up. Quinones presses his foe up against the fence looking for a takedown. A right elbow misses for Quinones on the break. A right cross snaps back the head of Quinones. They exchange low kicks. With double underhooks Quinones fails at a takedown but shoves Wood up against the cage again. Wood comes up with the takedown and jumps to the back. Wood locks up a rear-naked choke and it’s tight. Quinones fights it off for a second, but ultimately taps out.

  • Danny Roberts vs. Claudio Silva

Round 1-

Silva opens the fight with a thudding leg kick. Southpaw cross lands for Silva followed by a botched takedown attempt. A set of leg kicks hit their mark for Silva. Roberts gives up the takedown. Roberts ties up his opponent. Silva works to pass into full mount. Silva achieves mount but switches to side control. Roberts attempts to scramble but Silva maintains control. Roberts regains half guard. Silva takes full mount and locks up an arm triangle. Roberts escapes and takes top position. A couple of ground punches land for Roberts before the bell sounds.

10-9 Silva

Round 2-

An overhand left rocks Silva right away. Silva reacts by blasting a takedown up against the cage. Silva takes the full mount and solidifies the position. During a scramble, the referee stops the action to warn the fighters about putting their toes in the cage. Roberts exposes his back. Silva locks up an arm triangle again and Roberts escapes again. Roberts stands to his feet and starts connecting with set of punches. Left knee to the body scores for Roberts followed by a flurry of punches. Silva again gets the takedown up against the cage. Silva takes the back and rolls for a triangle. Roberts escapes back to his feet and lands a right hand as the bell sounds.

10-9 Roberts

Round 3-

Roberts rocks his foe again to open up the final round. From top position, Roberts chips away with strikes. Silva rolls for a leg, attacking a heel hook. Roberts squirms and frees himself. From his guard, Silva locks up an armbar. Roberts spikes his opponent but can’t get out of the hold. The referee steps in and stops the fight from what looks like a verbal tap.

  • Jack Marshman vs. John Phillips

Round 1-

Phillips presses forward with a haymaker and presses Marshman up against the cage. Right knee to the stomach lands, and then a weaker one. Marshman escapes to open space. Leg kick scores for Phillips. Right cross from Marshman. Lead hook connects for Phillips. In the clinch, a right uppercut landed for Phillips. A massive right hand send Marshman flying to the floor. Phillips allows Marshman to stand up. A set of jab feints sets up a Phillips right hand. Head kick from Marshman followed by a right hand. Leg kick scores for Phillips. A left-right hook combo lands for Marshman. Massive hook misses for Phillips.

10-9 Phillips

Round 2-

Lead hook misses for Phillips. Marshman pumps the jab to get some space. Lead leg kick again counts for Phillips. Marshman puts a right hand behind a jab. Two right hands to the head land for Phillips as they collided together. Southpaw cross hits it mark for Phillips. A one-two misses for Marshman. A clean body kick to hook combo knocked down Phillips. Phillips responds with a left hand and gets clipped with a right from Marshman. A jab from Phillips is countered with a right cross from Marshman. Marshman lands a left hook to the body. Jab misses for Phillips but the follow up blow to the body scores. Phillips misses a hook and Marshman lands two of his own. Phillips encourages Marshman to brawl in the final ten seconds to no avail.

Round 2-

Marshman launches a body kick that connects. Jab stops Phillips from advancing momentarily. Right cross misses for Marshman as he backpedals. A right cross misses but a jab connects for Marshman. A heavy overhand left barely misses for Phillips. A one-two misses for Phillips. Body cross followed by left hand to face gets the attention of Marshman. Phillips pressures forward trying to cut off the Octagon. A set of leg kicks land for Marshman. Phillips returns one of his own. They begin to trade in front of one another. Swapping hooks, both men throw with bad intentions as the round comes to a close.
