Ben Askren’s UFC debut against Robbie Lawler has been shrouded in controversy, following a questionable stoppage by referee Herb Dean. This had urged the UFC to propose an immediate rematch between the two elite welterweights.

The undefeated Askren, however, is not at all intent on running it back a second time.

“Not really,” Askren responded when asked by reporters if he was willing to go for a rematch. “I didn’t really want to fight him in the first place, I like Robbie Lawler a lot. What’s the point?”

Askren, however, has other plans. After securing his first UFC win, he will be an interested spectator for the upcoming 170-pound tiff between Darren Till and Jorge Masvidal in London or March 17th.

“Right now, I got a plane ticket to London,” he said. “Till vs. Masvidal, that’s like number three vs. number six (or) three vs. seven. I think the winner of that’s probably gonna be top three. And that’s who I’d like to fight.”

After UFC 235, Askren now holds a professional record of 19-0 (with 1 NC and 12 wins by stoppage).
