The main event was a UFC Light Heavyweight title bout between champion Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, and challenger Anthony ‘Lionheart’ Smith, preceded by a co-main title bout featuring welterweights Tyron Woodley (champion), and challenger Kamaru Usman. Also of note on this card were bouts between Welterweights Robbie Lawler and Ben Askren, Tecia Torres vs Weili Zhang at Women’s Strawweight, and Bantamweights Cody Garbrandt vs Pedro Munhoz. There are a total of four champions or former champions on the main card portion and all but two of the fighters who are set to compete on the other side of a paywall have an official ranking next to their name.
On this episode of the show, Zane Simon and Eddie Mercado of Bloody Elbow’s the 6th Round, join Flyin’ Brian J to discuss the nights violence and nonsensical post-fight antics. This post-fight show is aimed at recapping all of the action from this event with the live viewer serving as the co-host. We go over post-fight ratings, talk about technique, discuss WTF moments from the card, and give out pretend bonuses.
