At 43 years of age, Anderson Silva has proven that he can still compete against the elites. Although it ended in a loss, his performance against Israel Adesanya at UFC 234 showed why he is still worthy of being matched up against some the best in the game today.

One of the many who lauded “The Spider’s” performance on Saturday night in Melbourne was Conor McGregor, who also went on to put forth a very respectful challenge.

He also suggested that if Silva wants to rematch Nick Diaz, he’d be down for having a trilogy bout with Nate Diaz on the same event.

“The Notorious” has been showing interest in a fight against Silva since 2018, which the former long-time champion and future Hall-of-Famer is in agreement with. McGregor is currently serving a six-month suspension for the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, which is set to lapse in April.

As for Silva, he told Jon Anik during the Octagon interview that he is looking to be part of the upcoming UFC 237 card in Curitiba, Brazil, which takes place on May 11th.
