UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently on a nine-month suspension for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl. He can, however, shorten it to six months if he participates in a local anti-bullying campaign.
Khabib does not look like he’s interested in taking part, which he explained in a recent interview with expedition company Nord Desant.
“[The NSAC] said to take part in a social campaign… the state of Nevada is a place where they allow drugs, prostitution and gambling,” Khabib said (via SportBox).
“Let them work on themselves [and their own behavior]. There were fighters who didn’t fight for two years and didn’t have their belts taken for a year and a half.
“I’m ready to fight, they were the ones who banned me.”
According to his manager Ali Abdelaziz, Khabib is “done” fighting in the state of Nevada, and intends to return in November for the UFC’s annual card in New York City.
