Dillon Danis says he and ‘simp’ Ben Askren have same MMA credentials, threatens to ‘suplex’ him

Dillon Danis is back to saying Dillon Danis things.

Danis, a Bellator fighter who transitioned to MMA from competitive jiu-jitsu last year, took aim at UFC welterweight Ben Askren in a tweet Saturday. Askren called out UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov for a 165-pound title fight at the end of 2019. Danis responsed to “Funky,” telling him to “pipe down.”

“Me and you have the same credentials in MMA pipe down you simp before i suplex you,” Danis wrote.

Of course, Danis is in Bellator and Askren is in the UFC, so a lot would have to happen for a fight between the pair to make sense and line up.

Danis, a teammate and friend of UFC star Conor McGregor, said in a later tweet that he was expected to be on Saturday night’s Bellator 214 card in Inglewood, California, but because of the brawl after Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor in October a fight could not take place. Danis will go before the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) in a disciplinary hearing later this year for his involvement in the UFC 229 brawl.

Danis made his MMA debut in April 2018, picking up a first-round submission of Kyle Walker. Danis trains with McGregor at SBG Ireland.

Askren, a former Bellator and ONE Championship titleholder, makes his long-awaited UFC debut against former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler at UFC 235 in March.
