Dana White said he will go to extreme measures if Jon Jones fails another drug test.

Jones won back the UFC light heavyweight title with a dominant win over Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC 232, which took place Saturday at The Forum in Inglewood, California. It marked his first fight since July 2017, when he knocked out Daniel Cormier to re-claim the 205-pound title before testing positive for a steroid metabolite.

Historically, Jones’ most dangerous opponent has been himself — not a different fighter. “Bones” had had multiple run-ins with the law, including a 2015 hit-and-run, plus run-ins with USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner. Jones’ 15-month USADA suspension, which stemmed from the Cormier rematch, ended in October.

Jones is undoubtedly one of the best fighters of all time, but he needs to stay off the sidelines as a result of doping violations in order to continue cementing his legacy as one of MMA’s greats, White said.

“Jon Jones’ future depends on a lot of different drug testing,” White said at the UFC 232 post-fight press conference. “This guy needs to keep passing drug tests. He needs to stay clean, stay straight, keep training, stay in the gym, keep winning, and this guy can completely turn his life around.”

And if that doesn’t happen — if Jones tests positive yet again — well, just take a look at White’s quote yourself.

“I’m gonna kill myself,” White said.
