The main event will see the returning Jon Jones taking on Alexander Gustafsson for a second time. This will be for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. The co-main is a superfight between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes for the women’s 145-pound title.
This post will cover the preliminary card. The featured bout on the prelims is a heavyweight scrap between Andrei Arlovski and Walt Harris.
The show kicks off on Fight Pass at approximately 6pm ET with four fights. The card then moves to FS1 at 8pm ET for four more bouts, then onto the main PPV card at 10pm ET. The full lineup and schedule follows. Most of the main card will be covered in a separate post, and the main event will have a post on its own.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Walt Harris
Round 1 – Arlovski with a right. Another. Harris gets inside against the fence. Arlovski has already taken an eye poke and a groin strike. The ref chose not to intervene for either. They separate. Inside leg kick from Arlovski. Harris with a right hook. They clash heads. Harris with the right and a body kick. Arlovski with an awkward hook kick and spin. Inside leg kick. Harris with a counter right. And another. He’s catching Arlovski now. They both land. Arlovski with a counter. 10-9 Harris.
Round 2 – Arlovski complaining about eye pokes immediately. He’s really mad. The ref finally steps in and gives him some time. They restart and Harris gets a takedown. Arlovski back up quick. Harris feinting a lot. Not a lot happening. Harris jabbing. He lands a left. Low kick from Andrei. Arlovski with a right on the break from a brief clinch. Harris with a counter right. Body shot from Arlovski. 10-9 Harris.
Round 3 – Body kick from Arlovski. Again, not much happening. Harris wading into range and he finally lands a big shot. Right hook. Arlovski takes it though. Big left from Harris. Arlovski responds. Jab from Arlovski. More inaction. 90 seconds to go. The crowd is booing. Straight right from Arlovski. Leg kick. Couple of rights. Tough to score. 10-9 Arlovski, but 29-28 Harris I guess. Bad fight.
Walt Harris defeated Andrei Arlovski via split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)
Megan Anderson vs. Cat Zingano
Round 1 – Anderson takes the center. Leg kick from Zingano. Anderson with a head kick. Zingano begs off. She got kicked in the eye, it seems. Anderson tries to attack but the ref waves it off. Her toe went right into her eyeball. Gross.

Petr Yan vs. Douglas Silva de Andrade
Round 1 – Leg kick from Andrade. Left hook scores for Andrade. Leg kick from Yan. Yan spins. Body shot. Body kicks from both men. Yan catches a kick and dumps Andrade to the mat. Andrade attacking a leg, but he’s not Ryan Hall. He’s back up. Yan catches him coming in. Solid 1-2 from Yan. Uppercut from Andrade. Quick knee up the middle. Yan with a fast right. Another. Clubbing body kick from Yan. Andrade with his own right and a body kick. Yan puts together three punches that all connect. Spinning body kick from Andrade. Front kick. Another right. Back and forth here. Andrade catches a kick but can’t do anything with it. Yan presses with punches. Good action. Andrade digs to the body. Yan with a quick takedown. 10-9 Yan.
Round 2 – Yan with a hard straight right. Andrade trying to fire back but he’s getting the worst of it. Andrade switches it up and tries to work the body. Low kick from Yan. Looping right from the Russian. He gets in close and lands to the body. Andrade ends up on his back. Yan is in side against the cage. Elbows. Back to half. Yan takes his back and lands punches. Andrade attacks a leg but Yan spins out. He lands a nice knee to the body as Andrade tries to get up. Same sequence. Andrade tries to duck under and grab a leg again but Yan defends well. More elbows from Yan. One busted Andrade wide open. Yan all over him. Another nasty elbow. 10-9 Yan.
Andrade’s corner throws in the towel. It’s over. It’s great to see a team taking care of their fighter like that.
Petr Yan defeated Douglas Silva de Andrade via TKO (corner stoppage), 5:00 of round 2
Round 1 – Penn stalking with punches right away. Hall spins and eats a right. Penn clinches. Hall spins away. Hall with a side kick and he falls to his back. BJ kicks him in the ass. Hall trying to throw kicks from his back as BJ stands over him. Finally the ref makes Hall stand up. Hall misses with some kicks. Hall rolls into a heel hook and BJ taps just like that! Penn’s leg is damaged. That was unreal!

Nathaniel Wood vs. Andre Ewell
Round 1 – Right from Wood. He lands another that drops Ewell! He jumps on him but Ewell holds on and gets back to his feet. They land at the same time and both are staggered. Mouth piece gets knocked out. Ewell with a body kick. Wood keeping Ewell on the back foot though. Body shot from Ewell. Inside leg kick from Wood stumbles Ewell. Another. Straight from from Wood. Another. Ewell spins. Wood clinches against the cage. 10-9 Wood.
Round 2 – Wood with a quick takedown after a flurry. Not much happening here. Wood with a few punches and doing enough to keep the position, but he’s not trying to pass. Ewell isn’t threatening at all from the bottom either. Wood finally steps up the punching with 1:15 to go. Tons of body work now. Ewell is just taking it. 10-9 Wood.
Round 3 – Wood with some leg kicks. He trips Ewell but he’s right back up. Wood presses Ewell against the cage. Knees to the thigh. He drags Ewell to one knee, but he’s back up. He changes directions and gets Ewell down. He was in side but basically let Ewell get full guard back. Again, Wood is doing just enough to keep the position. The ref is occasionally warning Wood, and the crowd is restless. Wood backs out, then takes Ewell’s back as he tries to get up. He secures a choke and it’s over.
Nathaniel Wood defeated Andre Ewell via submission (rear naked choke), round 3
Round 1 – Quick start. Lewis throwing a ton and pressing forward. Front kick to the face. Left over the top and two knees. Big shots against the cage. Hall gets separation. Lewis misses with a right. Hall trying to establish the jab. Right over the top as Hall turns away. They trade low kicks. Lots of low kicks from both men. Lewis just misses with a head kick. Hall tries to catch a kick. Inside leg kick from Hall. Lewis catches a kick and lands a forearm to the head. Counter jab from Lewis. 10-9 Lewis.
Round 2 – Lewis goes body-head. Hall trying to estabish the jab but he’s getting countered. Hall spins and misses. Looping right scores for Lewis, and a body kick. Spinning back kick to the belly from Hall. Oblique kick from Lewis. Inside leg kicks from Hall. Lewis trips up Hall and gets a body lock from behind. He’s landing knees to the butt. Foot stomps. Calf stomps. Very rare. Hall spins away. Hall jabs. Again. Lewis is backing off a bit. Spinning kick to the body again. Counter right. 10-9 Lewis.
Round 3 – Lewis presses with counters and they clinch. Hall eventually circles out. Hall with a counter right shovel hook and Lewis is OUT! Just like that! That was crazy!

Curtis Millender vs. Siyar Bahadurzada
Round 1 – Bahadurzada gets his hands going. Millender looking to establish his jab. Hard body kick and hands from Bahadurzada. Spinning kicks land twice for Millender. He’s back to the outside leg kick and really doing effective work with his jab. Siyar charges forward with a combo but he’s not landing. Millender with a knee up the middle. Millender with more leg kicks. 10-9 Millender.
Round 2 – Millender jabbing and throwing leg kicks. He’s trying to throw a flying knee, and one actually connects. Bahadurzada is staying right in the pocket and eating the shots. He’s bringing pressure now. Millender pushes him against the fence briefly. Front kick to the leg from Millender. Slapping kick from Siyar. He swings and misses. Right over the top for Bahadurzada. Millender responds. Spinning elbow from Millender, and Bahadurzada takes him down. He works steadily from the top for the rest of the round. 10-9 Bahadurzada.
Round 3 – Millender active early. Body kick from Bahadurzada and a right. Another. Millender misses with a head kick. Counter left scores for Millender. Jab and a low kick. Siyar fires back. Hard left from Millender knocks out Bahadurzada’s mouthpiece. Millender hurts Siyar with a right! He’s still there but he’s wobbly. Hard right! Another! Siyar shoots for a takedown but gets nowhere. Millender lighting him up against the cage. Siyar somehow got a takedown. Millender spins out but Siyar ends up on his back. Millender up, then right back down. Siyar with big punches from behind. Millender back up again. Bahadurzada stays on him against the cage. Siyar with the single but he couldn’t get another takedown and they separate. Right over the top from Millender. Left, and a combo. Siyar with a huge left over the top. Siyar eats two jabs and shoots. He spins and gets a takedown, but gets swept! Great round. 10-9 and 29-28 Millender.
Curtis Millender defeated Siyar Bahadurzada via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Brian Kelleher vs. Montel Jackson
Round 1 – Quick start. Kelleher with leg kicks. Low blow. Jackson with a body kick. Kelleher can’t get it to the floor. Jackson with an elbow that backs off Kelleher. Jackson swarming with punches. He’s all over him. He secures a D’Arce choke! It’s over.
