The UFC on FOX 31 main card is in progress, and the #10 ranked 135-pounder Rob Font just dominated the promotion’s #2 ranked flyweight Sergio Pettis for three rounds. Font finds himself back in the win column and climbs to a respectable record of 16-4.

Before that, Charles Oliveira made quick work of Jim Miller in their rematch. Oliveira instantly realized a takedown and found a rear-naked choke in just 75 seconds of the opening round. Oliveira has more submission victories in the UFC than anyone else!

Main card:

Rob Font def. Sergio Pettis by unanimous decision (30-27 x3): Bantamweight

The bantamweights went right too work, standing in front of one another and trading in the pocket. Font began to touch his target with his boxing, backing up the former flyweight. Pettis gave up the takedown and was able to land several ground strikes before Pettis scrambled back to his feet and right into a fancy spinning kick.

Font backed up his foe to the fence to kick off the second round, but Pettis managed to escape into open space. The jab of Font was busting up the face of Pettis, and seemingly disrupting an attempt to find some rhythm. Pettis’ punches were coming up just short as Font did a sound job of staying just out of range. Pettis found top position off of a botched takedown, but quickly found himself fending off a Kimora attempt as time expired.

Pettis and Font went back and forth to start the final round. It was Font who switched gears and planted Pettis on his back. Pettis exposed his back and struggled to get Font off of him. Font continued his dominance and Pettis was unable to make it back to his feet.

Charles Oliveira def. Jim Miller by submission (RNC) at 1:15 of round 1: Lightweight

Oliveira immediately closed the distance and lifted Miller up and slammed him down to the mat. Oliveira quickly took the back and attacked an RNC. Miller was dead to rights and had no choice but to tap.
