Dana White and the UFC desperately want Tyron Woodley back in the Octagon by Jan. 26, but the reigning welterweight champion is still nursing an injured thumb and will likely be out of action for the next couple of months.

Head promoter White is still scrambling to secure a main event for UFC 233, and it’s been suggested that Colby Covington, who is expected to challenge Woodley for the welterweight title, should headline the event against Kamaru Usman in a number one contender’s bout.

White also took a dig at Woodley, claiming that the 170-pound division will ‘move on’ with or without ‘T-Wood’ defending his title.

Speaking to fans in a recent Instagram Live session (h/t Damon Martin of MMANYTT), however, Woodley shut down the Covington-Usman matchup and promised to defend his strap against ‘Chaos’, mocking the interim champ’s second name with a sexual slur.

“I am fighting ‘Queefington’,” Woodley said. “When I’m fighting his little busted butt I don’t know. Hopefully sooner than later cause I know you all sick and tired of this dumb goofass videos that nobody’s f–king with, that don’t nobody think is funny, besides his dumbass. I know you all tired of him so sooner than you know, he will be getting that ass whooped and then you won’t have to worry about him no more.

“Because after I beat his ass, I promise you with everything I believe in, everything I love, everything I ride for, he will be very, very unlikely to want to talk s–t again.”

Usman is interested in fighting at UFC 233, but Covington feels he deserves the title shot and is reportedly willing to wait until Woodley is fully recovered.
