Once a rising prospect at the bantamweight division, Thomas Almeida (21-3) has struggled in his last couple of outings. Currently on a two-fight losing skid, with losses to Rob Font and Jimmie Rivera, the 27-year-old hasn’t won a fight since November 2016, when he knocked out Albert Morales.
Still undefeated in the Octagon, Cory Sandhagen (9-1) is on a two-fight winning streak in the Octagon, with TKO wins over the likes of Austin Arnett and Iuri Alcantara. Sandhagen’s sole loss came in February 2017, when he dropped a unanimous decision to Jamall Emmers.
UFC on ESPN+ 1 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and will be headlined by a superfight between flyweight champion, Henry Cejudo, and bantamweight titleholder, TJ Dillashaw, with the 125 belt on the line.
