Bellator 209 already happened. In fact, it happened over 24 hours ago from the time I published this. Viacom has decided that MMA needs to be tape-delayed and literally impossible to watch legally unless you live in the country where the fight is taking place. If you were in Israel and attended Thursday’s event or watched it on TV, I hope you enjoyed it, because now the rest of us will finally get around to watching it.
The main event was featherweight champion Patricio Freire taking on rising contender Emmanuel Sanchez, while a rematch between Ryan Couture and Haim Gozali served as the co-main event. By far the most important non-main event bout on the card was former Bellator LHW champion Phil Davis against Vadim Nemkov.
You can discuss the tape-delayed card starting at 9 PM ET/6 PM PT on Paramount Network and DAZN, who can’t air the card live because Paramount has first rights apparently. Check out Eddie Mercado’s fight card preview, as well as The MMA Vivisection with Zane Simon, Eddie Mercado, and Victor Rodriguez.
All we ask is that you don’t spoil the results in the comments section, or else you’re banned for the weekend.
