
Join us today (Saturday, November 10th) on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring and play-by-play as UFC Fight Night: Korean Zombie vs. Rodriguez takes place in Denver, Colorado, on the 25th anniversary of the first-ever UFC show.
The headliner is a five-round featherweight bout between “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Yair Rodriguez, who is filling in for the injured Frankie Edgar.
Live results updates begin with the two Fight Pass prelims at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT, followed by four prelims on FS1 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. The main card kicks off on FS1 at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT, and we will have both live results and play-by-play coverage of those six bouts. You can see the full lineup and schedule below:
Main Card (FS1, 10 PM ET)
Chan Sung Jung vs. Yair Rodriguez
Round 1 – Here we go! What a leg kick by Rodriguez that stumbles TKZ right away. Jung throws his own leg kick in retaliation. He wades forward with a combination of punches but Yair just smiles at him. Good leg kick buckles TKZ again. Right hand and uppercuts galore by The Korean Zombie. Rodriguez shows a sturdy chin through all that. Front kick by Yair. Rodriguez continues to attack the legs of TKZ. Good counter left hand by Rodriguez. Left hand by Jung and a body kick by TKZ. Right hand over the top by TKZ. Front kick to the chest by Yair. Big shot seems to rock Rodriguez or at least catch him off balance. Jung goes for a trip and is unable to get it. Stiff jab by TKZ. Nice left by Jung against and then a takedown, he rolls to the top as the round comes to a close. Great round. 10-9 Korean Zombie.
Round 2 – Rodriguez comes out jabbing and then throwing an oblique kick to the knee. Spinning back kick to the body by the Mexican. Left hook by Jung. Rodriguez defends a takedown as they’re against the fence. He puts TKZ towards the fence after reversing position. Knee to the groin by Rodriguez halts action for less than a minute, so action is resumed at the center of the cage. Huge right hand by Jung but Rodriguez just gets out of the way at the last moment. Kick by Rodriguez is blocked. Leg kick by Rodriguez again, then he gets clocked with an up-jab. Spinning elbow by Rodriguez! Jung just takes it like a champ and works for a takedown. He was rushing forward with punches when he got caught by that elbow. Rodriguez nearly tossed down but he scrambles and avoids being put on his back. Jung lands a couple of punches coming forward. Straight right connects for The Korean Zombie. Counter right hand by TKZ in a fiery exchange. Another jab by Jung. Kick to the knee and a flying knee by Rodriguez! A flurry ensues but nothing actually lands. Now there’s a left hook by Rodriguez, upward elbow Anderson Silva-Tony Fryklund style. This is madness! Now they’re going at it and it is AWESOME! 19-19.
Round 3 – Strong jab by Jung and then by Rodriguez. Wheel kick by Rodriguez just gets by Jung. Cartwheel kick doesn’t come close. right hand by TKZ down the middle. Another right by Jung but a body kick backs him up. Leg kick by Yair. Left hook by Jung. Left hook-right hand combo by TKZ. Another right hand by The Korean Zombie! Rodriguez digs the body again with a quick kick. Jab and a right hand by TKZ. Front kick to the body by Rodriguez. Right hand and left hook stagger Rodriguez, who has to circle away! Straight right catches the Mexican. Two body kicks by Rodriguez. Leaping left hook by TKZ. Straight right hand by Rodriguez. And another one to the swelling face of Jung. Oh they’re engaging in a frantic flurry of kicks and punches! Rodriguez getting in some good shots. Stiff jab by TKZ. One more jab by Jung. They’re both bloodied now. What a weird-ass kick attempt by Rodriguez and then Zombie clocks him with a left hook! THIS FIGHT RULES. 29-28 Korean Zombie.
Round 4 – Upperut and right hand by Jung stun Rodriguez early. Nice left hook by TKZ. Rodriguez with a digging body kick. Right cross scores for TKZ. Counter right by TKZ. He is finding a home for that right hand on Rodriguez’s face. Jung falls after being pushed. He is back up quickly. Jung with a jab and a left hook. Vicious body kick by Rodriguez that had TKZ grimacing. Rodriguez going upstairs now with a head kick. Spinning elbow by Rodriguez is off-target. Big right hand rocks Rodriguez! Jung throws a flying knee and misses. They clinch and Jung lands a knee to the head on the exit. Rodriguez was complaining about something and now the fight is continuing. The ref tells them to keep fighting. Rodriguez eats yet another jab. Right hand lands behind the ear of Rodriguez. FS1 says an accidental groin strike on that flying knee by Jung is what Rodriguez was taking issue with. Rodriguez goes for rolling thunder but Jung keeps his balance well. Another right hand by Jung pops Yair’s head back like a Pez dispenser. 39-37 Korean Zombie.
Round 5 – They hug it out to start the final round. Jung charging ahead and throwing a combination but not much gets through. A right hand does connect, as does a jab. Beautiful counter right by Jung! Spinning elbow by Rodriguez again, and then he takes another right! 1-2 jars Rodriguez once more, as he throws a spinning back kick. Rodriguez runs right into a jab. Two short leg kicks by Rodriguez. Stinging jab by Jung. Three minutes to go. Rodriguez shoots for a takedown and can’t complete it, then Jung clobbers him with a left.Hard right hand by Rodriguez! They high-five with 2:30 to go, and stare into the crowd. Left hook by Rodriguez. Same punch lands for Jung. Head kick by Rodriguez and then Jung answers with a brutal left hand again! TKZ blocks a Rodriguez head kick. Jung ducks a spinning backfist and dodges a standing hammerfist. He misses on a left hook. One minute remains! Rodriguez throws several leg kicks and then eats a few punches, evades a few more. Ten seconds left! OH MY GOD RODRIGUEZ KNOCKS OUT KOREAN ZOMBIE WITH AN ELBOW! UNBELIEVABLE! UNBELIEVABLE! THERE WAS ONE SECOND LEFT! AN UPWARD ELBOW! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT JUST HAPPENED!

Donald Cerrone vs. Mike Perry
Round 1 – Loud chants for “Cowboy!” from the home crowd. Perry with a big swing and a miss, as Cerrone ties up Perry and throws a knee to the body, and takes on in return. It’s a trading of knees in the clinch before they separate. Leg kick by Cerrone. Cowboy fakes the takedown. Perry misses on an uppercut, and a few moments later stops a takedown. Nice knee by Cerrone in the clinch. Cerrone with a couple of jabs and a leg kick. Perry goes for the takedown and gets it. He gets reversed! Cerrone tries to take Perry’s back with a minute to go in the round. He’s too high on the back and loses the position, but Cerrone attacks with a triangle choke from his back. Perry is out of the choke. Cerrone going for the armbar and Perry tries to slam out of it and it backfires! Cowboy goes belly down and gets the tap! WOW!!!

Raquel Pennington vs. Germaine de Randamie
Round 1 – Good right hand by de Randamie a minute into the fight. Pennington has de Randamie pressed up against the fence. Action has slowed to a crawl. Nice knee from the clinch as GdR reverses position. Hard one to the body, and another one. Then an elbow by de Randamie. Pennington is taking some big knees to the stomach. Pennington throws some short lefts. Strong 1-2 by d Randamie, who tries to get the fight to the ground immediately without any set-up, and GdR defends. 10-9 de Randamie.
Round 2 – De Randamie belts Pennington with another knee in the clinch and a sharp elbow. Straight right hand snaps Pennington’s head back! Pennington is mounting very little offense. De Randamie lands a right hand and a jab. Head kick slaps across the face of Pennington. Rocky connects on a leg kick but she needs way more than that. Another leg kick sees her countered with a stiff jab. Pennington level changes with under two minutes to go. It’s now a battle in the clinch and Pennington cracks her foe with a short elbow to the forehead. Another elbow by Pennington but de Randamie scores with a left hook on the exit. Single leg effort by Pennington is thwarted as the round ends. 20-18 de Randamie.
Round 3 – De Randamie comes out firing off low kicks. Pennington just dodges a head kick. Pennington sneaks in a left hand. Body kick by de Randamie. Hard uppercut by the former women’s featherweight champion. Another leg kick by de Randamie. Level change by Pennington again and she can’t get the takedown, so settles for short, non-powerful strikes in the clinch. She drops down for a double leg and against GdR stops it. The referee separates them after Pennington got hit low with a knee. They return to striking and Pennington eats a punch and then another knee upstairs. Pennington pushing hard for a takedown. There’s just nothing there, and de Randamie is on her way to a win. Ten seconds to go and de Randamie chops at Pennington’s leg one last time, and then the horn signals the end. 30-27 de Randamie.

Beneil Dariush vs. Thiago Moises
Round 1 – Dariush with a body kick early on. He drives forward and Moises jumps on a guillotine, which Dariush pops out of. On the ground, Dariush has to defend an armbar and now goes to Moises’ back. Dariush can’t get both hooks in and they’re back to their feet. Moises lands a right elbow in the clinch. Moises stops the takedown as Dariush tried to drag him to the mat. Again Moises goes for a guillotine and doesn’t come close. Dariush with a couple of ground strikes before they’re standing again. Dariush with the Muay Thai clinch and throws a knee. Takedown is there for Dariush with a minute to go. Moises gives up his back. Dariush passes to full mount and he throws mostly pitter-pat strike before the horn sounds. 10-9 Dariush.
Round 2 – Dariush wastes no time going forward but he eats a counter. Head kick by Moises is blocked. Dariush in search of another body lock takedown aaaaand he gets it. He’s in the full guard of Moises and not much happens in the way of meaningful offense. Moises springs back up but Dariush is all over him and gets him on a knee. Dariush looking for back mount. He has one hook in, but not the second. Now he has both hooks in and goes for the rear-naked choke. Thirty seconds to go and that choke is not underneath the chin. He adjusts the choke but Moises defends that one, as well. Time expires and Dariush is up two rounds. 20-18 Dariush.
Round 3 – Moises begins the final round with a whiffing wheel kick. Dariush throws and lands a body kick, but gets caught with a right hand. Moises catches Dariush with an uppercut as Beneil moved in to close the distance. Another guillotine jump from Moises, and Dariush fights out of it. Dariush is on top with over three minutes to go. Moises has his back taken and Dariush goes for the rear-naked choke again with the body triangle locked in. Dariush tries for the RNC once more but Moises hand-fights. Moises controls one of Dariush’s wrists but is unable to reverse position, so Dariush gets out of back mount but remains in control of proceedings. Dariush drops down some elbows to the body as the seconds tick away, and Beneil has the W locked up. 30-26 Dariush.

Maycee Barber vs. Hannah Cifers
Round 1 – Active striking in the first 20 seconds. Quick right hand lands upstairs for Cifers. Good right hand and head kick by Barber. Now they’re teeing off on each other in the clinch. Cifers thwarts the hip-toss through the whizzer. They trade knees to the body against the fence. Barber with an inside elbow but Cifers exits with a right hand. Barber looking for the head kick but has failed twice in a row. Cifers throwing knees in the clinch again, going for the body. Barber with a left elbow on the inside, then reverses position and puts Cifers against the fence. This is an absolutely grueling pace set by both women. Barber looks for the takedown but can’t convert and she eats a hard right hand in the process. Cifers gets out of the way of an axe kick. Vicious elbow by Barber on Cifers. Another elbow in the closing seconds. Fun round! 10-9 Barber.
Round 2 – Head kick does connect for Barber on this occasion. Cifers throwing some wild punches and not landing. Two massive elbows on an already cut Cifers. The fight goes to the ground and Cifers is on her back after a failed omoplata. She is bleeding heavily and the heel hook is also unsuccessful. Barber unleashing more brutal elbows and punches on the ground! Cifers is getting pummeled and this ought to be over soon. It is!

Luis Pena vs. Mike Trizano
Round 1 – Pena throws a head kick that is blocked, then he absorbs a leg kick. Trizano attacks the leg again. Pena bails on a flying knee. Good counter right hand by Trizano, and a body kick shortly thereafter. Flashy head kick and straight left by Pena, but Trizano got out of the way of both. Leg kick lands for Trizano. Pena having problems checking those leg kicks. “Violent Bob Ross” looking for a happy little takedown but Trizano defends nicely. It’s become a stalemate and underhook battle against the fence, then they separate. Flying knee misses for Pena and then he immediately looks for a takedown. Trizano jumps guard and goes for a guillotine. It fails and he’s on his back. Mike gets an underhook and his back to his feet. Standing kimura by Pena is thwarted. 10-9 Trizano.
Round 2 – Pena finally checks a leg kick. Trizano evades a straight left and then a second time. Body kick by Pena. Trizano throws a right hand that hits the chest. Nice elbow by Trizano and Pena shoots for a takedown again, goes for a single leg. Trizano throws elbows against the fence to fend off this takedown. Pena tried for the body lock and dump on the mat, now he jumps on the back. Trizano looking to shake him off. Pena has a standing body triangle and now he gets it to the ground. Pena threatening with a rear-naked choke, but it’s not under the chin. Trizano reverses position from inside the body triangle. Pena working on a triangle choke, Trizano seeking big ground-and-pound and he does land some punches/hammerfists. Pena with a late kimura sweep attempt but time expires. 19-19.
Round 3 – Clean straight right connects for Trizano, followed by another inside leg kick. Pena clipped by a right hand on the inside. Trizano jabs then throws a straight right and left hook to the body. Pena with a terrible, telegraphed takedown that’s easily sprawled. Head kick by Trizano. Right hook catches Trizano and now he initiates a clinch and may be looking for the takedown again. Pena completes the takedown this time and has 2:30 or so of top control to do something. Welp. He lost position and Trizano scrambles back to his feet, but eats a knee. Trizano picks up a leg and now puts him on the mat. Pena maneuvers his way towards top position and really not much is going on here. Trizano to his feet again with under a minute to go. Two-punch combination by Trizano but it mostly pushes Pena. Hard right hand by Trizano, as Pena shakes his head. They start trading wildly and Trizano gets the better of the exchanges. 29-28 Trizano.
