It appears as though Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is not impressed with his son’s post-fight display at UFC 229.

Speaking to Russian media, Abdulmanap revealed that he plans to punish his son for his role in the brawl.

“I will impose a punishment tougher than the UFC’s. I warned him. For me, discipline comes first. You do whatever you want in the Octagon, [but] outside — this is the border of civilians, where there are children, women, strangers.”

The chaotic brawl that took place following the UFC 229 main event began when Nurmagomedov scaled the octagon fence and attacked members of McGregor team cage side. A melee erupted thereafter with McGregor jumping into the action as well. As a result, Nurmagomedov’s purse was withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which plans to undergo a complete investigation of the incident before releasing his fight purse.

According to Abdulmanap, Khabib will likely stay in the United States until the probe is complete.

”Financial issues have not been resolved,” Abdulmanap told tass.ru. “He does not know what is going on. He was supposed to fly out of America on the 9th. I do not know what date, at what time [he will return from the United States to Dagestan now].”

For those who are not familiar with Abdulmanap, he is Khabib’s longtime coach and mentor, as well as one of the most celebrated coaches in Dagestan. He spent the majority of his professional career giving Dagestani youth an alternative to Islamic insurgency through participation in combat sports like wrestling and sambo.

On occasion, his teaching methods may be considered unorthodox. For example, here is a video of Abdulmanap making Khabib wrestle a bear at age nine:
