Video: Sergio Moraes shows Ben Saunders how he beat him at UFC Sao Paulo

Sergio Moraes and Ben Saunders engaged in an impromptu training session after their fight at UFC Sao Paulo on Saturday.

In a clip posted on Moraes’ coach Andre Dida’s Instagram account, Moraes is seen showing Saunders how he beat him. Moraes tapped “Killa B” out with an arm-triangle submission in the second round of their welterweight meeting.

Saunders said in a social media post that he has “a ton of respect” for Moraes; that’s why he sought him out after the event.

“After the fight we got to talk and exchange some techniques,” Saunders wrote. “This is what this sport is all about.”

Moraes told MMAjunkie.com that it is unusual for him to help someone not officially part of his fight team, Evolucao Thai. His gym is very team-oriented, he said, and that may make it difficult for there to be any long-term training between him and Saunders.

“I don’t usually do this information exchange,” Moraes said. … “I won’t go to his gym to train. If one day he wants to go train at mine, I don’t think (coach Andre Dida) will make room for the camp. Either he becomes part of Evolucao (Thai) or he doesn’t train.”

Moraes giving Saunders some pointers may remind fans of when Neil Magny attended Demian Maia’s seminar in 2016. Magny lost to Maia by submission at UFC 190 in August 2015, and the Brazilian was happy to show Magny exactly how he locked in the fight-winning technique.

UFC Sao Paulo took place at Ginásio do Ibirapuera. In the main event, Thiago Santos defeated short-notice replacement Eryk Anders by TKO in the third round.
