Different round, same result: TJ Dillashaw knocking out Cody Garbrandt in a UFC bantamweight title fight. Dillashaw is now 2-0 against Garbrandt, first taking the belt from him last November, now defending that crown in emphatic fashion in the UFC 227 main event.
The two rivals went right to work, exchanging strikes in the center of the Octagon. Garbrandt started swinging and moving forward, but Dillashaw dropped him with a pretty counter. Garbrandt managed to recover and scramble back to his feet, but Dillashaw was all over him, not giving him any room to breathe. DIllashaw unloaded punch after punch, bouncing Garbrandt’s head all over the place as he chased him to the fence. The onslaught did not let up as Dillashaw continued to throw. It was obvious that Garbrandt was out on his feet, and only going to take on more damage. Luckily the referee stepped in to prevent any further damage.
