Even in the middle of Ramadan, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov still has his next potential challengers in mind. Over the weekend, “The Eagle” went on to send an indirect challenge towards Conor McGregor via Instagram.

“When you see him, tell him: Conor the game has changed, now you have to play like a grown-up man, there will no longer be locked buses with security inside and outside, now you have to solve these problems alone, and if you do not want it, just say so, everybody will understand,” Khabib wrote, along with the hashtag “#sendmelocation.”

With Khabib in respite and McGregor still with charges pending from his UFC 223 bus attack, the UFC is left at a stalemate. According to company president Dana White, it is all dependent on how the Irishman’s hearing on June 14th in Brooklyn would go.

“Conor and I are going to meet in Vegas. He and I haven’t seen each since New York. So we haven’t seen each other, we haven’t talked, nothing, so we need to get together soon,” White said during the UFC Liverpool post-fight presser (via MMA Fighting).

“[What happens next with him] depends on what goes on with him in New York in June. We can’t determine anything about what’s next for him until June is cleared up.”

But as for the potential Khabib vs. McGregor matchup, White is at the very least optimistic that it would be the fight that happens next.

“I’m pretty confident that that is the fight that Conor wants, and I’m pretty confident that that is the fight that Khabib wants. So, yeah, I could see that happening,” White said.

Khabib last fought at UFC 223 in early April, where he defeated Al Iaquinta via unanimous decision to be crowned the new undisputed lightweight champion. McGregor, on the other hand, has not stepped inside the UFC cage since UFC 205 in November 2016.
