Today, Showtime Boxing presents a free live stream of Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire. Frampton vs. Donaire airs in a live stream on Showtime’s YouTube page today, Saturday, April 21 with a fight time of 5:15 p.m. ET. The fight is for the interim WBO Featherweight (126 lbs.) title and is live from the SSE Arena in Belfast. You can watch the live stream above, or here at Showtime’s channel.
Frampton (24-1; 14 KOs) is the favorite here, currently sitting at -750. He’s a former two division champion who claimed Fighter of the Year honors in some circles for his 2016 wins over Scott Quigg and Leo Santa Cruz. In 2017, he went 1-1, losing the Santa Cruz rematch, then having a slightly tough time in his bounceback fight with Horacio Garcia.
Donaire (38-4; 24 KOs) sits at +475. He started his career as a champion at Flyweight and has made his way successfully through 5 divisions to Featherweight. The 2012 Fighter of the Year has never quite been the same since his 2013 loss to Guillermo Rigondeaux, though it would be unfair to say he is completely and totally shot at this stage. He’s definitely not the Filipino Flash he once was though.
Frampton vs. Donaire kicks off a big day of boxing for Showtime. Airing later on Showtime itself is a three fight card headlined by Adrien Broner vs. Jessie Vargas – check out our preview.
