There is new video footage of the chaotic scenes involving UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor and his entourage after Thursday’s UFC 223 media day session in Brooklyn.
Showing up unannounced, McGregor and crew allegedly were targeting Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was involved in a confrontation with McGregor’s friend and teammate Artem Lobov earlier in the week. Numerous objects were thrown at a bus containing several of the fighters on Saturday night’s card, with Khabib reportedly being one of them.
TMZ’s clip shows McGregor clearly running towards a dolly, picking it up, then hurling it at one of the windows, causing the glass to shatter.
Lightweight contender Michael Chiesa suffered facial cuts during this chaotic period, although it’s not confirmed that this throw by McGregor is what caused the lacerations.
Despite what Dana White said, the NYPD says there is no warrant out for Conor McGregor’s arrest, and no charges have been filed. An investigation is still ongoing.
As for Chiesa, he is apparently still planning to fight Anthony Pettis, having been hospitalized following this incident. Dana White already announced that Artem Lobov has been pulled from his bout vs. Alex Caceres, so we could see two fights scrapped as a direct result of what transpired on Thursday.
