An exciting fight at 145-pounds has been added to the UFC’s first visit to Liverpool on May 27th, as Jason Knight will take on Makwan Amirkhani.

Following an initial report from Swedish outlet Viaplay Fighting, the UFC confirmed the matchup on Wedneday.

Knight (20–4) is coming off consecutive losses to veteran featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas, and Gabriel Benitez. Before these losses, Knight (or “Hick Diaz” as some like to label him) had been on a tear at 145-pounds, earning $50,000 bonuses in his finishes of Chas Skelly and Alex Caceres.

Amirkhani (13-3) hasn’t fought in over a year, last suffering a split decision loss to Arnold Allen at UFC Fight Night 107. “Mr. Finland” had impressed by winning his first three UFC appearances prior to this, including defeating Mike Wilkinson by unanimous decision in early 2016, and of course scoring one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history when he beat Andy Ogle in just eight seconds at UFC on FOX 14.

The card in Liverpool will take place at the Echo Arena on May 27th. Local lad Darren Till will the event, but his opponent has not yet been announced.
