UFC Orlando video: Alan Jouban notches ‘KO of the Year’ caliber win vs. Ben Saunders

Alan Jouban and Ben Saunders are not just a pair of UFC welterweight fan favorites, but also good friends. These two delivered a terrific fight at UFC on FOX 28 in Orlando, Florida, with Jouban ending the contest with what has to go down as one of the best knockouts of the year.

Saunders was in noticeable trouble in round 1 due to the numerous leg kicks Jouban was landing, and a late knockdown punctuated a good round for Alan. Then midway through a chaotic round 2, Jouban followed up another inside leg kick with a vicious straight left hand that knocked “Killa B” down and out, legs folded up.

Here’s the finish in the video below.

Check out Tim Burke’s play-by-play of the ending:

Round 2 – Saunders with a counter right. Jouban with a body kick. They brawl on the inside. Two hard elbows from Saunders. More elbows. This is a war! Saunders got the Thai clinch briefly and landed a bit. Saunders with a hard straight right. Jouban with an inside leg kick and a right. Saunders’ leg is giving out on him. Another elbow from Jouban. Jouban with two more ebows. Make that about six more. Saunders fires back. Jouban with an inside kick and a huge straight left and he slept Saunders! He’s unconscious with his leg bent at a gnarly angle.

Alan Jouban defeated Ben Saunders via KO (strikes), 2:38 of round 2

Jouban ends his two-fight losing streak, while sending Saunders to his second KO loss in as many fights. I have a feeling $50,000 bonus checks are in order for both men after their great battle.
