UFC reveals undefeated cast for The Ultimate Fighter 27

The next season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) has a twist.

The show’s cast come from many different locations, including the United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Ireland, Italy, and Australia, but all 16 competitors have something in common.

TUF 27 is labelled “Undefeated” for a reason — no fighter on the upcoming season of the long-running reality show has lost a single pro bout. Many “0s” will have to go over the next few months.

The UFC revealed the show’s cast in a press release Friday evening. TUF 27 will feature eight featherweights and lightweights all with the same goal in mind: a UFC contract. The competitors range in age from 22 to 32.

One of the more recognizable names on the list of cast members is Kyler Phillips, a 22-year-old who won on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series by stoppage last year but wasn’t called up to the UFC.

One of the competitors has a sibling already in the UFC. Suman Mokhtarian is the brother of UFC flyweight Ashkan Mokhtarian.

Tyler Diamond has the most prominent team behind him out of all the other competitors. He trains at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento.

Also announced Friday were the two TUF 27 coaches: heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champ Daniel Cormier, who will meet for Miocic’s title at UFC 226 in July.
