The Jackson-Winkeljohn Academy of Albuquerque, New Mexico is one of the most star-studded teams in MMA today. However, this renowned stable is currently dealing with a good number of losses.
In 2017 alone, JacksonWink racked up defeats through Ray Borg, Michelle Waterson, Holly Holm, and Cub Swanson, just to name a few. And for Donald Cerrone who is a part of that list, this current trend is a bit of a head-scratcher.
“Yeah man, it’s just wild,” Cerrone told Jim Norton and Matt Serra on a recent episode of the UFC Unfiltered podcast. “I mean, sh-t, it’s not a thing that’s the norm. Even since I’ve been there we’ve been a pretty successful squad, but lately we’ve had a bit of trouble. Look at me, I’m f—-ng three losses, the worst I’ve had ever. It’s bullsh-t, I don’t know what the f–k is going on.”
“Cowboy” is looking to break his three-fight skid against Yancy Medeiros, who ironically is on a three-fight win streak. Given these stats, Cerrone says something’s got to give.
“He’s on a three-fight win streak, I’m on a three-fight losing streak. What the f—k is going on here? Somebody’s f—-ng streak must go, that’s what this is gonna be.”
Cerrone and Medeiros will headline UFC Fight Night 126 on February 18th in Austin, Texas.
