VASYL LOMACHENKO vs. GUILLERMO RIGONDEAUX

Round 4: Incredibly, Lomachenko has started to clown on Rigondeaux a bit here, treating him like just another opponent. Rigondeaux is certainly not out of this, as he remains elusive and tough to hit, but Lomachenko is using his speed, combos, and movement to find him more, and Rigo is not managing to land his own shots much. Loma does get warned for landing some shots to the back of the head, but that’s about the only things that goes Rigondeaux’s way this round. If he doesn’t change things, he’s going to be out of there within about 4 -5 rounds at most. 10-9 Loma

Round 5: More control from Lomachenko this round. He’s such a master at pivoting to use angles both defensively and offensively – at the same time. Rigondeaux is reducing his normally varied defense attack to just ducking and holding, which draws a stern warning from referee Willis for holding this round. Rigo is still slippery, so Loma lands nothing huge this round, but there’s no doubt he’s in firm control. The two also exchange some late shots and shoves after the bell, so things are getting heated. 10-9 Loma

Round 6: The clinching from Rigondeaux continues this round, including a really blatant one that results in him losing a point. Lomachenko comes out of that fired up and lands a few tough shots as Rigo is crouched over. Rigo is starting to seem rather resigned here – barely throwing his own shots at all, and settling into a groove that is not working for him. CompuBox tells us he has not landed more than 3 punches per round. 10-8 Loma

AND RIGONDEAUX QUITS ON THE STOOL AFTER 6! AMAZING!!
