Colby Covington was the talk of the UFC’s event in Sao Paulo over the weekend. The rising welterweight picked up a huge win over former title challenger Demian Maia, putting moving him into the top three at 170. His comments after the fight certainly drew some attention too, so you can be sure that other welterweights will have his name in their mouth in the next few months.
Other than that, there were a few minor changes. Here they all are, division-by-division:
P4P – No changes.
Heavyweight – No changes.
Light Heavyweight – No changes.
Middleweight – Derek Brunson moved up one spot to six with his big KO win, dropping Anderson Silva to seven. Lyoto Machida re-entered the list at 13 despite the loss to Brunson.
Welterweight – Covington moves up two spots to three, flipping with Maia who is now at five. Rafael dos Anjos drops one spot to six, with Carlos Condit dropping one to seven.
Lightweight – Francisco Trinaldo re-entered the rankings at 15 after a win over Jim Miller.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – Marlon Moraes passed Thomas Almeida for the nine spot, dropping Almeida to ten. Pedro Munhoz’s win over Rob Font moved him up one spot to 11. Eddie Wineland dropped one to 12, Matthew Lopez is up one to 13, and Font is down one to 14.
Flyweight – Deiveson Figueiredo cracks the rankings for the first time at 15 with a win in Sao Paulo.
Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.
Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
