Join us today on Bloody Elbow for live results, discussion, round scoring and play-by-play as UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Brunson takes place in the Ginasio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The headliner comes in the middleweight division, with the returning Lyoto Machida taking on Derek Brunson.

Today’s event is in Brazil, but the show falls into the same timeline as North American fight cards.. Live results and play-by-play will commence with the Fight Pass broadcast at 7pm ET/4pm PT for two fights. The event will then move to FS2 at 8pm ET/5pm PT for four preliminary fights, and then go to FS1 for the six-fight main card which kicks off at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

Derek Brunson vs. Lyoto Machida

Round 1 – Slow start. Brunson with a leg kick. Machida with a nice straight left as Brunson tried to advance. Brunson with an inside leg kick. Brunson with a left and Machida is hurt! He jumped on him and beat Machida unconscious!

Demian Maia vs. Colby Covington

Round 1 – Covington with a jab. Maia with a left hook. Another one. A third. Covington whiffs on a left. Maia lands three more left hooks and Covington circles away, smiling. Miaia scoops a single but can’t get the takedown. Covington with an inside leg kick and a left. Covington kicking the front leg a lot. Maia landed another left and there’s a cut over Covington’s right eye. Lots of blood. Covington with a left and a leg kick. Maia slips a punch. K-1 Maia looks good on the feet. Covington with a hard combo and he backs Maia up to the cage. Maia lands two lefts and an uppercut. They’re brawling and it’s great. Maia shoots in again but gets stuffed. Body kick from Covington. 10-9 Maia.

Round 2 – Maia immediately shoots but can’t get it to the ground. Jab from Covington. Covington with a combo. Maia with a double but Covington’s defense is stout. Maia still holding onto one leg, but he lets go and tries again. Covington stops him again. Maia getting tired, it seems. He’s slow to get up. Both of them look tired. Covington with a left. Maia shoots again but there’s nothing there. They stall out. Maia shoots again. Nope. Leg kick from Covington. Covington land a couple of straight rights. Both are throwing labored punches, but Covington is getting the best of it. 10-9 Covington.

Round 3 – Covington jabbing. He lands a shovel hook. Maia with a left, but he’s exhausted. Congington lands a hard left. Maia shot in but was denied. Covington beating him up on the inside now. Maia with a big knee up the middle. Covington is smiling. Low leg kick from Covington. They trade jabs. Covington with a head kick. Maia gets a single but Covington defends. Maia is busted wide open now. There’s blood everywhere. Maia’s just turtled up, while a pool of blood collects. Covington tried to finish but couldn’t. 10-9 and 29-28 Covington.

Colby Covington defeated Demian Maia by unanimous decision (29-27, 30-27, 30-26)

Pedro Munhoz vs. Rob Font

Round 1 – Font throwing a ton early. Munhoz with two low leg kicks. Font catches the third. Font kicking the legs as well now. Font lands a hard jab. Munhoz has a bloody nose already. Font goes to the body. Munhoz with a kick that Font caught again. He wanted to put him on the floor but Munhoz looked for a leg lock right away and Font got up. Munhoz with a body shot and a hard left hook. Same combo again. Font with the jab again. Straight right from Munhoz. He caught a jab and landed a combo. Munhoz shot in but was rebuffed. Munhoz with a left hook and Font is hurt! Munhoz jumps into mount after Font goes for a panic takedown and locks up a guillotine. Font tapped pretty much immediately! WOW!

Francisco Trinaldo vs. Jim Miller

Round 1 – Trinaldo with a right. Miller lands a kick and they go to the ground. Trinaldo ends up on top and moves him over to the cage. He lands a few shots, then backs out and lets Miller to his feet. Miller with a body shot and a low outside leg kick. Miller goes to the body again. Miller gets a double leg takedown. Trinaldo ties him up so Miller can’t do much. The crowd is booing, and the ref stood them up. They trade knees to the belly. 10-9 Miller.

Round 2 – Miller with a quick straight right. They trade shots in the pocket. Trinaldo goes to the body. Miller with an uppercut and a right hook that lands hard. Trinaldo with a huge straight left. Trinaldo stuffs a shot and lands a knee. Counter right hook for Trinaldo. Miller with a left an a low kick. Trinaldo goes to the body. They brawl in close. Miller in deep on a double leg and he pulls back for a guillotine. Trinaldo pops his head out and works in half guard. Trinaldo landing some hard shots on top. He has Miller’s arm trapped. 10-9 Trinaldo.

Round 3 – Front kick from Trinaldo. Left hook too. Jab. He looks for a step-in knee and Miller tries to take him down. He got pancaked though. Trinaldo going to the body. Left hook. Leg kick from Miller. Thai clinch and a knee from Trinaldo. They fight in close. Counter right hook from Trinaldo. He lands an elbow in tight against the fence. The pace slows. Miller has a kick caught and he’s taken down. with 90 seconds to go. Trinaldo lands a few shots but nothing super damaging. He jumps into half and lands an elbow. 10-9 and 29-28 Trinaldo.

Thiago Santos vs. Jack Hermansson

Round 1 – Lots of feinting to start. Santos with a head kick. Body kick too. Hermansson looks for a takedown. They spend an extended time in the clinch. Santos comes out firing and lands a bunch of shots. Hermansson defended most of them. Hermansson with a left. Inside leg kick from Santos. He misses with a spinning kick. Outside leg kick from Santos. Jump knee and a left hook from Santos. Another one and a barrage of punches and Hermansson is down! Santos keeps clubbing him and he gets the finish milliseconds before the horn! Wow.

John Lineker vs. Marlon Vera

Round 1 – Tepid start. Leg kick from Vera. Inside leg kick. Lineker lands to the body and just misses with a wild left. Another inside leg kick. Head kick from Vera. Very little happening halfway through the round. Leg kick from Lineker now. And another. Huge left hook from Lineker. He lands a right to the body as well. Body/head combo as well. Side kick from Vera. Lineker with a monster combo. Vera is backed up against the fence. Step-in right hook from Loneker. Another flurry. 10-9 Lineker.

Round 2 – Lineker caught a kick and landed a right. Vera with a leg kick. Lineker with a leg kick and a two-punch combo. Straight right from Lineker. Vera landed a nice shot. Lineker just smiled at him. Vera looks for the Thai clinch but can’t secure it against the cage. Vera with a body kick again. Step-in knee from Vera but he eats a right hook. Spinning back kick from Lineker. Vera with a jab. Low leg kick from Lineker. Vera jabbing. Body kick and a left from Vera. Lineker nails the body. Lineker kicks Vera’s legs out and surprisingly jumps into his guard. Big elbows from Lineker. He backs out and kicks the legs. 10-9 Lineker.

Round 3 – Hard leg kick from Vera. Lineker backs him up and beats up the body. Inside leg kick and a head kick from Chito. Lineker caught another kick but couldn’t get Vera down. Vera missed with a superman punch. Lineker goes to the body again. Lineker missed with a spinning attack. Lineker goes body-head again and the left hook to the head sent Vera backwards. Straight left from Vera. Lineker clinches up. Lineker rips the body. Low outside leg kick from Vera. Vera misses with a jump knee. 10-9 and 30-27 Lineker.

Vicente Luque vs. Niko Price

Round 1 – They trade leg kicks. Luque with a nice straight right. More leg kicks from Luque. Couple of straight lefts from Price. Luque had a flying knee caught, but Price couldn’t do anything with it. Luque with another inside leg kick. Price lands a short elbow. Price with a jab. Hard right hook from Luque. Luque has a bloody nose. Price continuing to throw the jab. Luque with his own jab, and a nice short left. Over the top with the right as well. Jump knee from Luque. Price with a head kick. 10-9 Luque.

Round 2 – Outside leg kick from Luque. Price lands a right. Luque with a jab. Inside leg kick from Price. Luque with his own. Combo from Luque. He’s kicking the inside of Price’s left leg over and over. Luque with a beautiful combination and he clinches up briefly. Price with a jab. Price cut over the left eye. Luque rips him with a right hook. Luque with an extended combo against he fence and he stuffs a takedown attempt. Another hard right and an uppercut drops Price! Luque is all over him with punches and now he locked up a D’Arce! It’s over! That was beautiful.

Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Jack Marshman

Round 1 – They both miss with some heavy shots early. Carlos with a nice combo. Leg kick as well. Big head kick but it got caught. Carlos stayed on his feet and clinched up. He tripped Marshman to the mat. He worked from half guard. He used constant pressures with occasional short punches for a while, then eventually moved to mount. Marshman gives up his back and ACJ immediately locks up a rear naked choke. Nighty night.

Hacran Dias vs. Jared Gordon

Round 1 – Slow start. They clinch up briefly and Gordan lands a right on the break. Gordon caught a kick and put Dias on his back. Dias up quick though. Dias lands a right and Gordon is cut on the outside of the eyebrow. Combo from Dias. Apparently the cut came from a clash of heads, not the right. Gordon with a nice combo. He’s walking Diaz down. He stuffs a long shot attempt from Dias. Dias lands a right again. Jab from Brooks. Dias lands three rights in a row. He ducks a Gordon left and lands a counter. Nice left from Dias, again on the counter. 10-9 Dias.

Round 2 – They’re brawling to start. Gordon shoots in but Dias uses underhooks to defend. Dias looking for his own takedown now but Gordon using the whizzer to defend. Gordon with a head kick and a left. Dias lands the right a few times. Gordon just walked through them. Gordon clinches. He lands a couple of knees and a right. He just misses with a head kick on the break. Gordon gets a takedown. Big punches from the top. Dias looks tired. More hammerfists. Dias trying to roll away but Gordon is holding him there. He’s looking at the referee for a stop, but it’s not there yet. He moves to mount with 30 seconds to go. Tons of punches from Gordon but Dias survives to the horn. He needs his cornermen to help him up after the horn. 10-8 Gordon.

Round 3 – Dias with a knee to the guy in the clinch. Gordon with a combo. Gordon looked for a single leg but Dias stayed on his feet. Both men are gassed, and they’re just awkwardly clinching. They’re separated due to an eyepoke. Dias is just leaning on the cage, catching his breath. They’re back to it after 30 seconds or so. Gordon lands a straight right, and gets a brief takedown. Dias reverses and takes top position, but Gordon reverses right back and he’s on top now. He grinds away for a while, not really throwing much, but started to open up with 30 seconds to go after he trapped an arm. It looked like the ref was gonna stop it, but he didn’t. Dias rolled for a late armbar but it wasn’t there. 10-9 and 29-27 Gordon.

Jared Gordon defeated Hacran Dias via unanimous decision (29-26, 29-27, 30-26)

Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos vs. Max Griffin

Round 1 – Griffin with a nice right hook. They both try to hit flying knees at the same time. Dos Santos with two jabs and shoots in for a takedown, but Griffin spun away. Dos Santos lands two hard shots. Griffin with a running leg kick. That was different. Griffin drops Dos Santos with a right! He jumps into guard and tries to beat him up, but Dos Santos weathers the storm and gets up quickly. Inside leg kick from Griffin. Dos Santos with a big combo and Griffin is hurt! Chicken leg time. Dos Santos all over him and Griffin is down. Dos Santos pounding away, and briefly looks for a choke. Griffin got back up and ate a ton of shots against the fence. He was out on his feet, but the ref let it go to the horn. That should have been stopped. 10-9 Dos Santos.

Round 2 – Dos Santos with a counter right hook. Griffin looks to be alert but he took a ton of damage at the end of the first. Dos Santos has a takedown attempt stuffed. Griffin lands two rights. Side kick from Dos Santos. Griffin drops Dos Santos with a right hook as Dos Santos tried to spin! He’s back right away. Dos Santos lands a big right. This is a war. Another right from Griffin. He blocks a takedown attempt. They both land hard rights. Dos Santos with an uppercut and they clinch up. 10-9 Griffin.

Round 3 – Inside leg kick from Dos Santos. The pace has definitely slowed. Dos Santos with a big right. Griffin with a big right and Dos Santos was staggered a bit. He clinched up. Dos Santos with a hard straight right after the break. Another. Griffin is begging off. Dos Santos chooses to clinch again. They trade knees and separate. Dos Santos pressures with punches again, but they tie up against the fence. They separate again and Dos Santos clubs him with a right and a body shot. Griffin spins and misses. 10-9 and 29-28 Dos Santos.

Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos defeated Max Griffin by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-27, 29-27)

Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Jarred Brooks

Round 1 – Figueiredo charged straight at him as soon as the fight started. The pace settled quickly after that. Some clinch work. Figueiredo landing some knees against the fence. Brooks scooped him up and slammed Figueiredo to the mat. He worked from the top for a while before trying to pass, but Brooks pushed him off and got up. Brooks shoots in, scoops him up again, and slams him to the mat again. That’s a strong flyweight. 10-9 Brooks.

Round 2 – Brooks clinches up immediately. Figueiredo reverses him against the fence. They break and Figueiredo lands a nice right. Body kick and an uppercut as well. Brooks shoots in but gets caught in a guillotine. He popped out though and worked from the top. Figueiredo gets up quick, but gets double-legged immediately. Again he goes for the guillotine. Again Brooks popped his head out. They scramble and Brooks takes his back, but referee Mario Yamasaki said that he grabbed Figueiredo’s shorts so he stood them up. Figueiredo got a takedown right at the horn. 10-9 Brooks.

Round 3 – Figueiredo looks for a guillotine right away, but Brooks is able to pry his head out. They get back up, but Brooks gets his hands connected around Figueiredo’s waist against the cage and gets another big takedown. Figueiredo back up immediately though. Brooks with a belly-to-back suplex. Announcer Daniel Cormier references Brock Lesnar. Figueiredo back up and landing big shots. Strong left hook. Brooks eats it. Figueiredo coming forward with his hands down. Both men missing with single shots now. Figueiredo with a step-in straight left. Hard body kick. A Figueiredo uppercut grazes Brooks’ forehead. Double leg takedown from Brooks. 10-9 Figueiredo but 29-28 Brooks.

Deiveson Figueiredo defeated Jarred Brooks by split decision (27-30, 29-28, 29-28)

Christian Colombo vs. Marcelo Golm

Round 1 – Golm with a hard combo to start. Inside leg kick from Golm. Jab too. Golm backs him up and is all over him with huge punches against the cage. Colombo’s legs buckled at one point but he stayed on his feet. Golm with a takedown right into mount. More punches. Colombo trying to cover up. Colombo gives up his back and Golm is hunting for a choke. Colombo is bleeding, a lot. Golm secures the choke and Colombo tapped before he even squeezed. He wanted out.
