
The Bellator 183 main card kicked off from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Aaron Pico vs. Justin Linn and Adam Piccolotti vs. Goiti Yamauchi. In the opening bout, Yamauchi showed that he is one of the most dangerous grapplers in the division by securing a Rear-Naked Choke on Adam Piccolotti, in just 3:19 into the opening round. Top prospect Pico put the stamp on his second professional fight, but picking up a clean one-punch knockout of Justin Linn at into round 1. Bellator 183 is off to an impeccable start!
Main Card:
Aaron Pico def. Justin Linn by KO at 3:45 of round 1: Featherweight
Pico wasted no time in scoring a clinch takedown, and taking unleashing a bit of ground and pound. Pico allowed Linn to return to his feet, where Pico released a tidal wave of punches as Linn had his back to the cage. Linn weathered the storm to land a few clean crosses of his own, but Pico again scored a takedown, to add to his control time. Pico allowed his foe to return to his feet once again, just to drop the hammer with a crisp left hook that separated Linn from his senses before he even hit the mat.

Goiti Yamauchi def. Adam Piccolotti by Submission (RNC) at 3:19 of round 1: Lightweight
Piccolotti came out throwing effective straight punches, before his opponent threw a flying knee to Guillotine attempt. Piccolotti remained calm and escaped into top position, but Yamauchi scrambled back to his feet. Yamauchi would snag the back of of his opponent while standing, sunk in a Rear-Naked Choke while trapping the arm with his legs. Piccolotti dropped down to the mat, but with 1 arm trapped, there was little defending that he could do, and respectfully tapped out. Yamauchi picked up his 18th career submission, 6 for Bellator, and climbs the ranks in Bellator’s lightweight division.
