BE faithful, the unthinkable has happened. Prepare yourself, because this is going to be a bitter pill to swallow: Ilir Latifi has been defeated. I know, I know, but it’s true. The #5 ranked Latifi fell on the sword of his countryman, #4 Alexander Gustafsson, losing by a score of 35-15. With that, you have to think Gustafsson is virtually unbeatable in the rest of the tournament – after all, if Latifi can not beat him, who can? Daniel Cormier will take a shot next round.
Today, it’s a fight we could have feasibly seen in Bellator at some point, though that window seems to have passed: #2 ranked Quinton Jackson, known around the world simply as Rampage, vs. #7 Emanuel Newton. Rampage is a former UFC champion, while Newton has claimed gold in both MFC and Bellator. Can Newton spinning backfist his way to the upset?
