In the aftermath of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor hoopla, it can be easy to forget that the UFC has had a bad run of luck over the last couple of weeks. Junior dos Santos was flagged by USADA. Brian Stann left the company. And of course, their homegrown star lost in a high-profile boxing match last night. But the biggest non-Conor story was definitely the continuing saga of Jon Jones, who failed an in-competition UFC 214 test for the anabolic steroid turinabol.
Jones’ manager has stated that the B samples will be tested and that Jones is not a cheater. But Jones, who is provisionally suspended by USADA right now and may be stripped of the UFC light heavyweight title (again) hadn’t said a word in public since the test results came to light.
Until now.
The 30-year-old took to Twitter to indirectly comment on where he’s at, but focused on the positive:
Times like these remind me how blessed I truly am. So much to be grateful for

Jones defeated Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 by third-round TKO to reclaim the UFC’s 205-pound championship. He has already been suspended once by USADA for a failed test just before UFC 200, sitting out for a year. If he is found guilty here, he could be facing a very lengthy suspension that UFC president Dana White believes could ultimately cost him his fighting career.
