Mayweather vs. McGregor official scorecards: Two judges only gave Conor McGregor one round

Floyd Mayweather Jr. got off to a slow start against UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, but Mayweather took over as the fight progressed and ultimately stopped the tired McGregor in the 10th round. Most observers felt that McGregor certainly took at least the first couple of rounds, but otherwise Mayweather was winning overall at the time of the TKO finish.

Two of the three judges at ringside had a decidedly different point of view on how the fight went. Veterans Burt Clements and Guido Cavalleri both saw McGregor only winning round 1. That’s it. Dave Moretti had a more sensible 87-83 scorecard, with a 10-8 for the lopsided 9th round.

Showtime’s Steve Farhood had it 86-85 in Mayweather’s favor, as did Bloody Elbow’s Tim Burke, although this is all moot as it would’ve taken a miracle for McGregor to rally back to get a stoppage win.

It’s certainly hard to understand how Clements and Cavalleri could score the fight that wide.
