The UFC usually puts out a five or six-part Embedded series before every pay-per-view to get fans acquainted with the participants in the top fights and let people see what fight week is like. This time, they’re going to do it for their homegrown superstar Conor McGregor, who is set to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a huge boxing match on August 26th. Which is today!
This episode is all about the weigh-ins. As expected, there is a huge Irish contingent outside before they start. There was an amusing Irish flag with the words “Mayweather Can’t Read” on it. Mystic Mac shows up at the arena and there’s some baby-playing before he heads out.
Mayweather undergoes some medicals before he heads out.
The on-stage stuff played out on Embedded much as it did if you actually watched the weigh-ins yesterday. They are introduced, come out with their entourages, introduced again, weigh in, and that’s that. McGregor yelled at Floyd during the whole staredown, who didn’t say a word. McGregor thought Floyd looked terrible on the scale. Mayweather says he’s been here before, he’s ready, and it won’t go the distance.
It’s finally here!
Mayweather and McGregor head to the ring in just a few hours in Las Vegas.
