Another snippet of video footage has been released of the sparring session between Conor McGregor and former two-weight boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi at the UFC performance institute.
McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, invited Malignaggi to training camp as a sparring partner but the former boxer abruptly left camp after just a couple of days, citing mistreatment from team McGregor.
Malignaggi, who will feature as a commentator for the Showtime broadcast of Mayweather vs. McGregor, wasn’t happy with some of the photos released on McGregor’s social media account.
Malignaggi disputed that one of the photos, which showed the 36-year-old on the canvas, misrepresented what actually happened. ‘Magic Man’ states that he was pushed to the ground while McGregor, 29, claims he knocked him down with a punch.
‘The Notorious’ released the footage of the knockdown, but that only seemed to make matters worse.
Yesterday, new footage was released of McGregor landing more clean shots against Malignaggi, but the full 12 rounds will not be uploaded until after Aug. 26. UFC president Dana White and former UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta were also featured in the video.
