Jon Jones is once again in very hot water for failing a drug test after the weigh-ins for UFC 214, and a lot of people were wondering what Daniel Cormier was thinking. After all, Jones was the one to defeat Cormier via third-round TKO at the event to take his UFC light heavyweight title.

Cormier didn’t take long to respond, but unlike the shock that Jones’ camp showed, Cormier says he’s disappointed and emotional. And just as confused as a lot of us.

Here is his full statement to MMA Fighting:

“It’s hard to find words to describe how I’m feeling right now. I’m disappointed to hear the news. It’s very emotional.

“We as athletes are entitled to due process, and I will refrain from saying much more until I know exactly what happened.

“In my mind, on July 29, I competed and I lost. I thought Jon Jones was the better man that day. I don’t know what to think anymore. I can’t believe we are going through all of this again. We will see what happens next.

“Thank you to all my fans who have supported me during this dark time. I love you all very much.”

Cormier would likely be given back the UFC light heavyweight title if Jones was stripped. UFC president Dana White has stated that Jones hasn’t been stripped as of yet, but that could change soon.
