A recent addition to the UFC’s roster has tested positive in a recent drug test.
UFC light heavyweight Nick Roehrick was recently flagged by USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner, the UFC announced in a statement Thursday. The potential violation stemmed from an out-of-competition drug test administered by USADA on Aug. 8.
“Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair legal process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward,” the statement read.
Roehrick was not given a provisional suspension.
Roehrick was signed to the UFC earlier this year and fought Jared Cannonier on short notice at The Ultimate Fighter 25 Finale. He lost by third-round TKO. Prior to his debut in the largest MMA organization on the planet, the 30-year-old was undefeated at 7-0. He holds three pro wins by stoppage.
