Yesterday, boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. taunted Conor McGregor by opting to fight in eight-ounce gloves instead of the 10-ounce gloves that both fighters initially agreed to.

“Whatever advantage McGregor needs to feel more comfortable in the ring, I’m willing to accommodate. Let’s give the boxing and MMA fans what they want to see,” Mayweather posted on Instagram on Tuesday.

McGregor, 29, is accustomed to the four-ounce gloves of MMA but the Irishman has no problem fighting ‘Money’ in any size.

‘The Notorious’ fired back at Mayweather on social media, posting a picture of another 12-round sparring session with former two-weight world champion Pauli Malignaggi.

Another handy 12 rounds today. We are prepared to destroy Floyd. Pick whatever size gloves you want as well little man. I fight with 4oz. I don’t give a fuck about the size of the glove. I am coming sprinting at you with bricks. Know that. Brittle hands.”

McGregor and Mayweather recently went back-and-forth at the multi-city, multi-country May-Mac world tour and the two fighters are likely to continue to trade verbal barbs on social media in the lead-up to their showdown later this month.

The boxing extravaganza takes place on August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
