UFC 213 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas, and it serves as a brief introduction to the four fighters that make up the top of the card (or did). You are also introduced to some other fighters on the PPV.
Obviously some of this is moot now with Amanda Nunes vs. Valentina Shevchenko off the card due to Nunes getting sick.
Things start off with Shevchenko doing a light workout and talking about her focus before the fight. She doesn’t have to cut weight, so that helps. Nunes is shedding the last few pounds in her room with her team. She has a portable sauna there, which is fancy.
Robert Whittaker is just playing some mini-ball soccer with his team before weigh-ins to stay loose. They talk about Yoel Romero cutting two or three pounds a day.
Now it’s time for the official weigh-ins. Everyone is good to go. Romero needs a towel, but he made it.
Ceremonial weigh-in time. Nothing special happens.
And that’s it. It’s kind of sad that all this lead-up for the women’s 135-pound title amounted to nothing.
