Today is the latest from Glory Kickboxing, as they present Glory 41 Holland. Glory is pretty clearly trying something a bit different this time, as it is the Superfight Series portion of the card that is heavily stacked and seems to be the real focus of the event. They’ve also switched the order, with the Superfight Series capping the night.
Headlining that Superfight Series is a non-title fight from Glory Heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven. He faces the debuting Ismael Lazaar – a very good signing for Glory and welcome addition to the division. Also included here is a fight for the vacant Featherweight championship that Robin van Roosmalen lost on the scale in January. He faces Thai fighter Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao, fresh off a tournament win at Glory 39. You’ve also got Murthel Groenhart, Mourad Bouzidi vs. Michael Duut, the debut of Zakaria Zouggary – seriously, it’s a great Superfight Series, and it’s available on Fight Pass, so you really should check it out.
On the Glory 41 portion of the card airing on ESPN3, there is a Heavyweight tournament where Anderson Braddock Silva is the easy favorite. In the main event, Hesdy Gerges faces Tomas Hron – a late replacement after Chi Lewis-Parry pulled out of the fight.
Glory 41 airs today, Saturday, May 20 with a fight time of 1:00 p.m. ET for the Glory 41 card on ESPN3, and 3:30 p.m. ET for the Superfight Series on Fight Pass. Bloody Elbow will have live coverage.
