The Bellator MMA bantamweight title was due to be on the line tonight (Friday, April 14th) in Budapest, Hungary, but short-notice challenger Leandro Higo failed to make weight, thus his main event fight vs. champion Eduardo Dantas is now a three-round, non-title affair.
In the co-main event of Bellator 177, featherweight contenders Daniel Weichel and John Teixeira square off in what figures to be a #1 contender’s matchup. Unlike last week, this European event will be tape-delayed. Bellator 177 starts on Spike at 9 PM ET/CT and this is your place to discuss the show, spoiler-free. There’s no preliminary card stream, as is the standard for Bellator’s tape-delayed cards.
Check out The MMA Vivisection for a full breakdown of tonight’s show, as well as Eddie Mercado’s preview.
