Mike Goldberg may have parted ways with the UFC, but he’s not done with MMA.

That’s according to ex-Strikeforce president and current Bellator CEO Scott Coker, who confirmed that he’s in talks with Goldberg about a potential commentating role.

Coker, a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo, said Bellator is looking to book Goldberg to fill up the events that current broadcaster Sean Grande can’t work, per John Balfe of The Mac Life.

Goldberg, 52, is one of the leading voices in mixed martial arts and worked as a play-by-play commentator for the UFC for twenty years. The veteran announcer parted ways with the promotion last year after the UFC’s new owners, WME-IMG, decided not to renew his contract.

Goldberg’s last UFC event was UFC 207, where he commented alongside his longtime broadcasting partner, Joe Rogan, for Ronda Rousey’s return against Amanda Nunes in the main event.

Goldberg did not receive a tribute from the UFC and revealed to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helewani that he received no contact or farewell from Dana White.

“No conversations, no contact. Nothing, really,” he said. “Nothing. Which was surprising. Disappointing, certainly.”

Despite his abrupt departure, Goldberg left on a high note and thanked the fans for their loyal support.

Bellator have signed many ex-UFC fighters in the last year but a deal with Goldberg would undoubtedly be their biggest signing yet and would certainly elevate their status as one of the top MMA promotions in the world.
