A few days ago, former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos announced his intention to move up one weight class to 170 pounds, saying he wanted new challenges and didn’t want to cut so much weight any more. Well, one of those possible challenges has popped up rather quickly. Former Strikeforce welterweight champ Tarec Saffiedine took to Twitter to offer his services in RDA’s first fight in his new division:

Dos Anjos (25-9, 14-7 UFC) is coming off two straight losses, dropping his title to Eddie Alvarez then dropping a decision to Tony Ferguson. Saffiedine (16-6, 2-3 UFC) lost a close and controversial decision to Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 207 late last month.

He would be a great first test for RDA due to his well-rounded game. As Donald Cerrone has shown, a move from lightweight to welterweight can be very beneficial, and getting a ranked fighter right away would be good for Dos Anjos. We’ll see if the UFC agrees.
