Although Dominick Cruz lost for the first time in the UFC against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 207, many are concerned about ‘The Dominator’s’ future after battling with a series of career-threatening injuries for the last few years.

Cruz was forced to vacate the bantamweight title due to recurring injuries in 2014 and faced three years on the sidelines, but reclaimed the belt when he beat T.J. Dillashaw at UFC Fight Night 81.

The Alliance MMA fighter went on to defend the title against Urijah Faber in 2015 but came up short against ‘No Love’ last month.

Cruz, who is known for his elusive movement and frenetic pace, was out-maneuvered by Garbrandt and beaten to the punch in most of the exchanges. The 31-year-old was outclassed and lost a unanimous decision but assured fans on social media that he will be back better than ever.

Happy New Year everyone! I said everything I needed to in my post fight interviews except for one important thing – Thank you to all my fans, family, friends and the media for all the love and support. As I stated on Friday night, I’m not out of this. It’s just another life lesson that will help me learn, grow and evolve as a human and a man. I’m still standing. I’m not going ANYWHERE! … Congrats to @cody_nolove on a good scrap! ⚡️ #ToBeContinued

Cruz also congratulated Garbrandt at the UFC 207 post-fight press conference and said that he ‘enjoyed every second’ of their thrilling co-main event at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

The two-promotion champion could return against the No. 3 ranked John Lineker, who lost to Dillashaw on the main card.
