Nate Diaz: ‘I’m only fighting at lightweight for a big fight or $20 million’

After his rematch against Conor McGregor at UFC 202, Nate Diaz has yet to finalize his next career move. But when the UFC announced that McGregor may be taking a ten-month layoff, Diaz says he intends to do the same thing.

Several reports have claimed that Diaz is being set-up for an interim lightweight title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. According to the Stockton native, however, no one from the UFC has called him up about him yet. But if he does get contacted for a fight deal, Diaz already named his own conditions just to make him answer the call.

“I’m only fighting at lightweight for a big fight or 20 million just to take the call. Until then, I’m just living my life,” Diaz told MMA Fighting.

As far as Dana White is concerned, a trilogy fight between Diaz and McGregor is “definitely” not happening. Diaz himself is not too keen on the idea as well, especially since he has yet to be offered the price which he feels he deserves.

“I already beat him, and they aren’t paying enough to fight him again.”
